American rapper Rich Homie Quan is dead. He was found dead at age 34 at his home in Atlanta from a rumored drug overdose.

Rich Homie Quan was notable for his distinct style, a melodic approach that acknowledged the trap sensibilities of Atlanta rap without surrendering to them. He was an ardent opponent of rap’s increasing lyrical focus on street life, crime and violence.

Acknowledgments of his passing and his impact have begun to flow from Atlanta’s musical community.


He started his career in 2011 and gained popularity with his 2013 hit "Type of Way," which reached number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2015, his single "Flex" climbed higher, hitting number 26 on the chart.

Rich Homie Quan is well-known for his collaboration with Rich Gang, where he teamed up with Young Thug to create a dynamic duo.

Rich Homie Quan is survived by his four children. He had just dropped his latest single "Ah'chi" with 2 Chainz on July 5.
