Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Stephen Mugambi Colbert. He is the main suspect in a scam that defrauded a Nigerian citizen of 150 million Naira.
Mugambi and his accomplices, who are still at large, deceived the victim by posing as legitimate businessmen. They falsely claimed they could arrange a private jet to transfer investment money from Kenya to Nigeria.
The victim, unaware of the scam, sent the money, only to discover he had been tricked when Mugambi and his partners vanished.
After realizing he was a victim of fraud, the foreign national reached out to the DCI, prompting a detailed investigation.
This led to Mugambi’s arrest, while his partners escaped. The DCI has vowed to keep searching for the other suspects.
