Kenyan singer Vivian has disclosed that marriage requires hard work, especially when the honeymoon stage ends and the reality check kicks in.

Speaking in a recent interview with Presenter Ali, the singer narrated that life has changed since she got married, saying every union has its ups and downs.

Vivian also added that she met her husband, Sam West while on a show in Nakuru.

"So many things have changed. In marriage, they say there is the honeymoon phase, and then there is the reality check. The husband in your head versus the husband you are dealing with are two different people

"I am happy, but I feel like sometimes people are not prepared because we focus so much on the proposal and the wedding and forget to work on how you two will come together and live peacefully and respect each other," she said.

The singer also set the record straight that she is not a gospel singer but has closely worked in her entire career with gospel musicians.

While talking about the ups and downs in the industry, Vivian narrated that in 2018, she was depressed because she got tired of the things she had to do to remain relevant in the industry.

Vivian further said she had the celebrity status that affected her friendships and family and had not built a community around her.
