Creative director and comedian Lawrence Mwangi, alias Terence Creative has said blogger Edgar Obare should thank him for kickstarting his career.

The comic made the statement while speaking alongside his wife, Milly Chebby on her YouTube channel where he was asked if he had thanked the blogger for inspiring his famous Wash Wash videos.

In response, Terence said he could not credit Obare for the highly successful videos highlighting the tactics cons use to con unsuspecting suspects.

Instead, the content creator said Obare should be grateful to him as his cheating scandal in 2019 made him famous.

"Sorry to bring this up a few years back I kickstarted his carer he has never credited me. Many people knew him through me, he did my story for almost six months," be said.

Terence instead credited Kenyans for the success of his Wash Wash comical videos, saying they provided fodder for the show.

"I would like to credit kenyans for coming out and telling me how they were conned. If Obare had assisted me with production, I would have credited him," he said.

However, he commended the blogger, saying he was doing a great job.

Responding to inquiries on whether he received threats for revealing the tactics used in money laundering, Terence said the feedback has been positive, and some cons even changed their lifestyle.

"I have not been threatened. but i have received calls from people saying I had let out their secrets, out on a light note

"Some said the wash wash videos changed them as they realised coning people was wrong," he said.
