Kenyan Gospel Singer Evelyn Wanjiru and her husband Agundabweni Akweyu are expecting their first child.
Sharing the happy news on Instagram, Evelyn thanked God saying she has been waiting for this season 10 years in her marriage.
" Today my heart is full of joy and gratitude. As I write this my eyes are full of tears I have been waiting for this season 10 years in my marriage. A blessed womb. God has fulfilled His purpose in our lives".
The singer went ahead to praise God and thanked her husband for being a gift from God.
"I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. 1 Samuel 1:27".
In her post, Evelyn Wanjiru also encouraged couples who are waiting to have children not to give up.
" You don't get what you've prayed for, you get what you have waited for. When we were waiting we kept singing praises to Him and encouraging others yet we also asked God questions. Then I would hear a voice saying get encouraged the measure of your temptation is equal to the measure of your blessings".
She added that her and her husband have learnt that God has a track record for keeping His word. She also thanked everyone who has stood by her and prayed for her family.
Indeed God is faithful, He has made everything beautiful in His time.
