The CEO of Equity Bank Dr James Mwangi has donated ksh 120 million to support families affected by the ongoing drought in the country.

Speaking during a meeting that was aimed at discussing drought in the country , the CEO said he would donate the amount on behalf of his family and the equity group, as the government looks for a better solution.

"It appears it’s a perennial issue so why don’t we look for a permanent solution? On behalf of my family and the Equity group on matching grant through the Equity Foundation, I will give Ksh 120 Million."

President William Samoei Ruto added that so far 20 counties have been affected by the drought menace, as he urged everyone to contribute what they can to help starving Kenyans.
