Police have arrested Thomas Mbugua Muthee the main suspect behind the gruesome murder of 31 year old Naneu Muthoni.
The suspect who was the victim's lover was arrested at Malaba border as he tried to sneak out of the country to the neighbouring Uganda.
Thomas Mbugua Muthee has been on the run since last Saturday after commiting the murder. His girlfriend's body was discovered in his Langata house. There were patterns of blood splatter on the walls and floor of the one-bedroom residence.
An autopsy report conducted on Wednesday revealed that she died due to a traumatic brain injury. The report further revealed that she was beaten severally with a blunt object and a sharp object penetrated her head.
The suspect is being detained at Malaba police station and will be transported to Nairobi on Saturday.
