Residents of Nyakoingwana village in Endebess Sub-County Transnzoia county are in shock after a woman succumbed to injuries caused to her private parts by her boyfriend.
43 year old Nancy Chelimo Mweney was living with her 27 year old lover identified as Alex Chemwantei Cheroben as a married couple until their relationship went south.
According to a report aired by NTV, Alex attacked Nancy on February 27, after he suspected that she was cheating on him.
According to the police report, the suspect is said to have used a hot iron to injure Nancy and left her with serious injuries in her private parts.
The victim did not seek medical attention. Her condition worsened and she died on Friday March 3.
Police said the village elder reported the matter to Salama Police Post on Friday after neighbors raised the alarm over the suspected murder. Police reports indicated that the deceased had burns on her buttocks.
The body of the deceased was transferred to Kitale County Hospital pending an autopsy and The suspect is being detained at the Endebess police station.
