Police have revealed that the victim in Pangani Accident involving a Mercedes Benz S300 was a mechanic driving his client's car.

The driver identified as James Ogola died in the early Sunday morning accident after the car rammed into concrete wall in the Pangani tunnel, Thika super highway.

James Ogola, a mechanic at Fitmax garage, was driving his client Joanne Muthoni’s Mercedes Benz S300 when the accident occured. Miss Muthoni had given Ogolla the car for repairs.

“I can confirm that the vehicle has not been stolen, it was picked up on Thursday for repairs by my mechanic."

Miss Muthoni said she learnt of the accident from people who were calling to confirm whether she was in the car. She expressed her shock and disbelief at her Mechanic's death.

"My phone has been ringing non-stop, and I still have some missed calls that I have not responded to. However, I feel so sad that he lost his life."

According to Starehe sub-county Police Commander Fred Abuga, Ogola managed to get out of the vehicle that had burst into flames but fell about one metre away and died on the spot.

The fire was put out by the Nairobi City County firefighters. The body was moved to the city mortuary.
