Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy has pleaded with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to pay the artists who performed at Nairobi Festival in December 2022.

Arrow Bwoy addressed the governor on social media adding that things are hard for artists who have been waiting for payment for two months.

"Dear our Governor Johnson Sakaja, mambo imechemka huku nje. Since we performed at the Nairobi Festival in December, we have not been paid."

Arrow Bwoy persuaded Sakaja in his next post by telling him that life in the creative industry is tough and that the governor knows it since he was once in the same industry.

"Governor Sakaja you were once an artist. You know the struggles we go through as creatives. Kindly huku nje maisha ni ngumu cheza kama wewe."

The artist said his efforts to get payment from the agency that contacted him have bore no fruits since they also claimed they haven't received payment from the county government.

The Nairobi Festival was held in December 2022 to celebrate the city and its culture, food, and art. Several artists performed at the festival including Arrow Bwoy, King Kaka, Juacali, H_art the band, and more.
