Kenyan dancehall artist Dufla Diligon has expressed his disappointment with Kenyan Dancers and TikTokers especially when it comes to the high demands whenever a Kenyan artist want their song promoted on the platform.
In a post on social media, Dufla said Kenyan TikTokers are quick to jump on a trend especially when it is a Nigerian, Bongo or Amapiano song.
The musician said the problem comes when a Kenyan artist sends their song to the same TikTokers. He revealed that they always ask for compensation.
"Some TikTokers wanakatsia, yaani unapata msee amengangana na ngoma za Nigerians TZ, Amapiano and the list goes on. Wamepiga challenges kama zote free!!! We ukimkal anadai budget ya (30k 50k 100k)."
The musician added that even after paying the required amount, some TikTokers vanish into thin air without fulfilling their promises.
"Ukishawatumia wengi wanaingia mitini simu hawashiki na akipick eti pole nmekua ulevi, wengine wanafanya video moja na ni ivo!! I really don't understand this."
TikTok has become the best platform especially for upcoming artists to market their songs.
Many artists have harnessed the platform to effectively market their releases. They have devised engaging challenges that encourage users to participate, thereby amplifying the reach of their songs.
