Three Egerton university students, Kelvin Anunda Mogaka, Francis Manyara Ogata, and Bravin Osano Ombogi were arraigned in Court today over charges of deceiving the public that they had access to the 2022 national exams before the due date.

The three obtained millions of shillings from parents and KCSE candidates via Telegram forums in the pretext that they would sell them examination materials for the forthcoming national examinations.

The Telegram groups contained instructions on how payments would be made with members being cautioned to strictly follow the procedure to save time.

Using the scheme, the had acquired millions of cash and one Kelvin Anunda Mogaka had started building a house in his rural home.

They were each granted a cash bail of Sh500,000 with alternative bond of a million by Milimani Chief magistrate Wendy Michemi.
